Oman, Turkey agree on importance of resolving Gulf Crisis through dialogue: Cavusoglu

Muscat: Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has affirmed that Oman and Turkey agree on the importance of resolving the Gulf crisis through dialogue.

"Since the beginning of the crisis, Ankara has continued with all parties to reach common ground, and it is the first supporter of Kuwait's initiative to resolve the crisis on the grounds that the dispute does not serve any side, but will have negative impacts on the entire region," Oglu said in a statement to Oman news agency (ONA).

He added that Oman has always sought to establish the foundations of peace in the region and to resolve differences through constructive dialogue, thus winning the respect of all countries, stressing Ankara's continuous endeavor to develop its economic relations and develop and enhance its cooperation with the Sultanate in many fields that serve the common interests, especially with regard to manufacturing industries and tourism, noting that there are Turkish companies working on the implementation of many projects in the Sultanate.

The Turkish foreign minister said that his country is friendly to all and does not have a problem with Europe as it is an integral part of Europe and is associated with the European Union with common principles, adding that Ankara is doing its duty to immigration and is committed to the organization agreement.

He appealed to the European Union to fulfill its obligations to the Syrians, stressing at the same time the importance of the territorial integrity of Iraq.

The Turkish Foreign Minister left Oman yesterday after a two-day visit, during which he had met with Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said and Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah where they discussed ties of cooperation in various fields, and exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest on the regional and international arenas, and latest developments in the region.
