International wedding exhibition opens

The tenth International Wedding Exhibition and Fashion Show (IWED 2017) opened yesterday at the Doha Exhibition Center (DEC).
Ahmed bin Hamad, owner of Royal Events, with Eme, makeup artist and Hadi Al Zain Ali, CEO of Qatar Expo, launched the five-day exhibition in the presence of representatives from various fileds.
Covering a total of 5,000sqm, IWED 2017 is featuring the latest wedding services mainly from Qatar, GCC countries, Turkey, and Asia attracting over 8,000 visitors locally and internationally until May 22.
IWED 2017 has gathered the top names and labels in the wedding planning, hospitality, fashion and related industries under one roof. More than 110 exhibitors, sponsors and partners are participating in a unique showcase of the best that’s available in wedding products and services in Qatar.
Talking to The Peninsula Hadi Al Zain Ali, CEO of Qatar Expo said: “It was a challenge for us to make this happen, IWED 2017 is something outstanding. This year we have a new participant with us which is ‘dermatology section’, which will have a doctor to consult the visitors and check their skin. We have BMW car showcase, which has never happened before during the IWED. We have five days fashion show and on the last day, we will be conducting a gala dinner at DECC which will be followed by a private fashion show.”
“We have a lot of surprises for the visitors such as coupons from the participants and vouchers of discounts from different outlets present at exhibition,” he added.
IWED 2017 guarantees visitors to be stunned by different activities such as spectacular daily fashion shows from leading designers, huge wedding planners and its custom stands showcasing beauty and healthcare products, dazzling jewellries and accessories exhibits, traditional Arab and European brands, entertainments, plus the chance to take perks every day from different participants.
IWED is open from 12 noon to 10pm from Thursday to Monday. And on Friday, it's 3pm to 10pm.
This edition marks the continuance of interactive wedding suppliers in the country to allow the audience connect and share latest ideas and inspirations about wedding. Several fashion shows such as Ali Beydoun Fashion Design, Aisha AI Muhairi Design, Ryma Couture, Zainah Collection, Awabid Design, Dar Waham and more will showcase on the catwalk. Hair and make-up tutorial is hosted by Makeup District and luxurious creations made by the region’s designers is also on cue.
A visitor at the exhibition said: “IWED seems to grow bigger and bigger when it comes to bringing huge and amazing exhibitors to the event. Wedding planners, hotels and its activities mainly the ones that attracts huge number to come and see.”
