Al Rayyan Futsal Championship begins on May 29

Twenty futsal teams from Qatar will battle it at the Al Rayyan Channel Futsal Championship which will kick off at Al Rayyan SC Stadium from May 29, informed the organisers.
The tournament, which will see some interesting matches, will begin on the third day of the Ramadan period and end on the 18th day.
The winner’s and runner’s up will share an early Eid Al Fitr gift of QR250, 000 and QR150, 000 respectively, while the third placed team will take home QR75, 000.
 There will also be other cash awards for the top goal scorer, best goal keeper and MVP of the tournament. In addition, Al Rayyan Channel will give out QR48, 000 as Man-of-the Match awards throughout the championship.
 There will be 40 preliminary matches before the knockout stages all played at 15 minutes’ halves with a 2-minute break.
 The opening day will feature the championships opening speech, entertainment, prizes and giveaways. The event is free and opens to the public.
The tournament will bring some promising matches with last year’s semifinalists Al Nour and Al Galayel taking on Ein Khaled and Duhail respectively in the opening match.
Other standout games from the first round of matches include last year’s runners up Al Adaam who face new comers Al Rahib Futsal while Al Annabi face 2016 title holders Al Jarayan.
Al Rayyan Satellite Channel’s general manager and head of the Al Rayyan Futsal Committee, Mubarak Al Awwami said: “It is with great delight that Al Rayyan Channel will host and telecast live the second edition of our futsal competition. I look forward to welcoming the teams, players and spectators to the Ramadan feature which appears to be more fiercely competitive this year and God willing more successful”.
