Ashghal to shift traffic on Salwa Road Interchange No. 24 today
18 Jul 2017 - 2:19
The Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal’, will temporarily shift eastbound and westbound traffic on Salwa Road Interchange No. 24 to continue construction of a multi-level interchange.
The proposed road change, which will occur approximately 25km west of Doha, has been designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic. It will be implemented today with a brief operation period of 40 days. As shown on the attached map, the temporary road realignment will affect a one kilometre section of Salwa Road and will be implemented in three phases over the 40 day period.
During the three phases, road users travelling in both directions will simply be shifted onto adjacent roads and can continue their journey towards Bu Samra or Doha as required, informed officials associated with the matter.
Ashghal advises road users that it will need to reduce the number of lanes on this one kilometre section of Salwa Road from four lanes to three lanes in order to complete the required construction works.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the closure. ‘Ashghal’ requests all road users to abide by the speed limit, which has been reduced from 120 kph to 50 kph for this one kilometre section of Salwa Road, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
