Kahramaa gets ready for Ramadan
DOHA: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has readied transmission and distribution networks of electricity and water, pumping stations and filling tanks stand for the holy month of Ramadan.
The preparation aims at meeting customers’ demand and achieve Kahramaa’s mission in securing electricity and water in a sustainable and high-quality manner. Kahramaa also stressed the readiness of all technical teams round the clock to intervene quickly to address faults in a record time to reduce service interruption quickly and professionally. Kahramaa’s customer service centres will open from 9:30am to 1:30pm, Sunday to Thursday.
Electricity network department completed all the regular maintenance work of its main and secondary transmission stations and secondary feeding stations and control centres. Several maintenance workshops were held to secure and enhance the continuity of electricity supply without interruption during peak times, especially in some important installations in the state, such as mosques in order to meet any expected increase of electric loads due to the increasing demand for electricity.
Kahramaa’s water network services have completed all regular maintenance of water pumping stations and tanks, as well as water transmission and distribution networks, as well as maintaining the country’s strategic stock at its highest level before the beginning of the summer.
Supervisory control and data acquisition SCADA of water control centre continuously monitors the network to provide water throughout the holy month and the summer period, while technical teams of water emergencies are prepared to meet any shortage throughout the country and around the clock.
In order to meet the water needs, Kahramaa explained that Al Sailiya and Umm Salal stations will work around the clock seven days a week to ensure continuous water service.
