QFC hosts Singapore delegation
DOHA: The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), one of the world’s leading and fastest-growing onshore business and financial centres,recently hosted a delegation of representatives from the Business Mission to Qatar of the Singapore Business Federation.
QFC leadership met with delegates from 10 Singapore companies to discuss strategic business partnerships between Singapore and Qatar, and to share information on how QFC’s platform can benefit international businesses.
Attendees represented the Singapore Business Federation, Pacific International Lines (Pte) Ltd, Meinhardt Pte Ltd, Archicom Singapore Pte Ltd, CrimsonLogic Pte Ltd, Cutech Process Services Pte Ltd, Formula One Furniche Pte Ltd, Smart Consulting Solutions Pte Ltd, Spanners International Pte Ltd and Enterprise Singapore.
Sheikha Alanoud Hamad Al Thani, Managing Director, Business Development, QFC Authority said:“Singapore has long been a strategic economic partner of Qatar with bilateral trade between the two countries amounting to over $3.6bn in 2016. In 2017 Qatar and Singapore signed four MoU’s targeting joint investment projects in agriculture, construction, training and consultancy.With business ties continuously growing and expanding, we are pleased to welcome so many business leaders from Singapore to the QFC. Our discussions were very productive, and we look forward to continuing these relationships in the future as we work together to help more Singaporean businesses take advantage of Qatar’s many economic opportunities.”
The meeting is part of QFC’s efforts to promote Qatar as a lucrative destination for companies looking to expand their operations to the Middle East and tap into Qatar’s multibillion dollar infrastructure programme. Over 22 percent of the firms registered under the Qatar Financial Centre in 2016 were from the Asia Pacific region.
