Audio CD of Asif Shafi’s Urdu ghazals launched

Doha: Pakistan Association Qatar (PAQ) recently organised an event for launching the first-ever Audio CD of any Qatar-based Urdu poet composed in Mumbai.
Asif Shafi, a renowned Urdu poet, based in Qatar and an author of six Urdu poetry books had an honour of releasing his audio Album named Kabhi Waqt Miley to Aa Jao (When you have a time do come) of his 8 Ghazals at newly-renovated Hall of Sheezan Hotel Doha on April 3.
The event was compared by PAQ Chairman Syed Faheemuddin and he welcomed the guests and audiences. The programme was presided over by the world-renowned Urdu poet, Farhat Abbas Shah, and the chief guest was Commodore Irfan Taj, the Defence Attaché, Pakistan Embassy Qatar. The lyricist of the audio album Asif Shafi, Pakistan poet Syed Zia Hussain and Lahore TV Anchor and young singer Sameer Abbas Shah were the guests of honour.   
Four Mumbai-based singers, Rafiq Shaikh, Peenaz Masani, Pooja Gaitonde and Vaishali Samant sang the eight ghazals. Songs were composed by Rafique Shaikh and recorded at Buss In Studio, Vile Parle West, Mumbai.
After the launch, numbers from the album were played and audiences enjoyed the melody of the ghazals beautifully sung by the artists.
Asif Shafi expressed his gratitude to PAQ for organising a successful event for his CD launch and to the guests and audiences who attended the event. Asif Shafi presented his poetry to the audiences.
Farhat Abbas Shah, presiding the event, the chief guest and guest of honours congratulated Asif Shafi and appreciated the new trend set in Qatar to popularise Urdu ghazals to the youth and Urdu lovers.
Sameer mesmerised the audience by singing a beautiful song and Syed Farhat Abbas presented his classic ghazals, which were received by the audience with applause.
The programme was wonderfully organised and was prefixed by dinner. The audience and guests were enjoyed the programme and the album is available on YouTube.
