Moroccan duo eyes strong start for Al Kharaitiyat

Al Kharaitiyat’s Moroccan attackers Anouar Diba and Rachid Tiberkanine are hoping for a strong start when they take on Umm Salal on Friday in the opening match of QNB Stars League.
Both the players were influential in helping the Thunders beat the drop last year.
Last season’s top scorer at the club Tiberkanine revealed that stability is key for his team int he new season.
“Our goal is to build on the strong finish that we had last year. The squad has not changed too much this season, but we have added good players to the side.”
Diba added that preparations had gone well for Kharaitiyat ahead of the big kick-off.
“We enjoyed a strong preseason in Turkey, the group put in some good performances and came together as a team. The club management have also done everything they can to help the side do their very best.”
“We believe in our abilities and feel that we can surprise some teams this season. If we start strongly we have a chance to do well in the league” added Tiberkanine.
Diba added that he was looking forward to taking on Umm Salal and beginning the new QNB Stars League season.
“Umm Salal will be a real test for us, they have proven themselves as one of the toughest sides in recent years. However we are fully ready and will give our best to start the league well.”
Meanwhile, Al Rayyan summer signing Mouhcine Moutouali (pictured) has revealed his excitement in joining the Lions ahead of the kick-off of the QNB Stars League on Friday evening.
The former Al Wakrah player expressed his joy at signing on with the Lions.
“I have joined the biggest side in Qatar, with some of the best players and most passionate fans. I am really excited to give my all for my new side.”
Moutouali is set to wear the number 11 shirt for his new side, was also quick to thank his former side Al Wakrah to enable the transfer.
“I would like to thank the administrations of both clubs for making this happen. It has been a busy few days, and now I must concentrate on doing my best and helping the team to the best possible start in the league.”
“I have great ambitions of winning titles with Al Rayyan and I believe that this season, we certainly have a good chance of competing on many fronts. The club has strengthened the squad well, and that will be important for the challenges in the season” added the Moroccan playmaker.
“The competition in the league will be fierce, especially with the competition being cut down to twelve teams. However Al Rayyan is more than capable of doing our best.”
