The government also announced thereby that 26 countries in the world shall be given extra focus and attention from the government in order to nurture trade and investment relations with these countries during the period 2015-2020. I was very glad to see that our newly opened embassy in Doha had led my government to include Qatar in these 26 countries.”
She said: “Further on, the Export Strategy requested all Swedish Ambassadors around the world to establish in each country a Team Sweden . It was an honor to launch in Doha in February 2016 “TTeam Sweden in Qatar”.
Team Sweden shall in each country include active Sweden promotion organizations.
“In Qatar we included Business Sweden: Swedish Trade & Invest Council and the Alumni Sweden network in Qatar (graduates from Swedish universities active in key positions in Qatar) together with the Embassy,” added Ambassador Polano.
“I have been glad to chair our Team Sweden here in Doha, but we missed one important component: a Swedish Chamber of Commerce – and now we have launched it. Thereby, Team Sweden In Qatar is complete.”
Polano said that the Swedish Chamber of Commerce will of course include as many members as possible from the Swedish Business Community. However, now the important process also starts to approach strong, key business partners in Qatar, who would also like to become members or associates.
