Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW) held the honouring ceremony for people who actively participated in national event, at Al Atiyah Hall, yesterday.
The national event was an initiative of the Qatari Voice and organised by Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW) in collaboration with Qatar Cultural Heritage Center, Al Saad Sports Club and other local institutions. The appreciation was given to the media persons and volunteers who actively participated at the recent National event for setting (Tamim Al Majd) icon in Al Sadd Sports Club recently.
During this national event around 2,000 citizens and residents formed the iconic image with each holding a wooden piece of the image to form the portrait, showing their love to their beloved country and its wise leadership.
Amaal bint Abdullatif Al Mannai, QFSW’s CEO, during the ceremony told The Peninsula: “The national event we recently hosted was a hugely successful event. We have gathered all the media persons, active participants and representatives of different entities to present them token of appreciation. During the event I was happy to youth participating to express their love and affection. In future, events are coming, which will be implemented by our energetic youth.”
“Our event was a part of the ongoing global campaign named ‘Tamim Al Majd’. Different organisations from sports, culture and volunteering sectors actively participated to make this a success,” she added.
Talking about the completion of more than 60 days of blockade, Amaal said: “The blockade was a failure since day one. We never counted days to show our unity and success. We believe in Allah first and then our Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. He will never let us down as a nation. The countries which have created the disputes will definitely dismiss it themselves.”
