Katara to screen South African film

A South African film — ‘One Humanity’ — will be screened on August 29 at Katara Drama Theatre.
The film addresses aspects of South African history while highlighting essential facts on how South Africans united as a one nation, said South African Ambassador Shirish Soni during a meeting with Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti yesterday.
The Ambassador also proposed holding a South African festival in October, which promises to be filled with events, activities and surprises that emphasise on South African culture.
Dr Al Sulaiti welcomed the proposal and stated that Katara ensures an artistic platform to host a diverse array of events aimed at shedding light on various cultures and civilisations.
The meeting was held with an aim to strengthen cultural relations between the countries. At the end of the meeting, Dr Al Sulaiti presented a souvenir to the South African envoy. Dr Al Sulaiti also met with Croatian Ambassador Tomislav Bosnjak on the occasion of the conclusion of his diplomatic mission to Doha.
The Croatian ambassador expressed his utmost appreciation and gratitude to the Cultural Village for its unceasing efforts to host various activities and events all year long, for the visitors to witness wide array of cultures. At the meeting’s conclusion, Katara’s GM presented a memento to the Croatian ambassador and wished him success in his next mission.
